Audio and Video Transfer Technicians have overall responsibility and accountability for video duplication, editing and transfers to the customers’ satisfaction in an efficient and safe manner. Photo Lab Technicians have overall responsibility and accountability for developing and printing rolls of film, reprints, and digital files, as well as scanning photos and other services performed on mini-lab machines to the customers’ satisfaction in an efficient and safe manner. Lab/Audio and Video Transfer Technicians must be quality conscious at all times and strive to deliver the best finished product to Mike’s Camera customers.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Lab/Audio and Video Transfer Technician is responsible to successfully and conscientiously carry out the daily duties of the video duplication department and all other duties required ensuring that all customer orders are finished on time and with the highest quality standards available.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs all duties associated with the video department including: video duplication, film transfers to video, slides to video, prints to video, editing, titles, audio dubs and conversion. Perform lab production as directed by management
  • Perform lab production as directed by management.
  • Accurately prices all photo finishing orders in an efficient and timely manner
  • Maintains high quality and production standards on all customer orders
  • Performs all required maintenance and cleaning duties as directed by management.
  • Efficiently complete customer orders
  • Follows all safety procedures as prescribed in the required safety training class
  • Assists customer service associates in locating unaccountable customer orders
  • Demonstrates an ability to work well with others in a team atmosphere
  • Basic photographic/photo-finishing knowledge obtained through specialized classes or hands-on mini-lab operations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to interact with people at all levels.
  • Strong multitasking and time management skills.
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time and work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • The ability to work around chemicals and odors related to film developing.
  • Physically capable of moving, lifting, pulling or pushing 35 lbs. several times a day.
  • Sufficient eyesight for determining color, density, quality and for performing the detail tasks of photo-finishing.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to the Store Manager, Production Manager, or lead printer when coordinator is absent.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of a High School education or equivalent

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience with video duplication operations preferred
  • Good reading and math skills
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Good eye for detail in determining quality
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, stressful environment
