What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Operator position at Mike Brown Services?
- Responsibilities:
- Install and repair underground pipelines and utilities, including water, sewer, and drainage systems
- Excavate trenches using hand tools or heavy equipment
- Align and position pipes according to blueprints and specifications
- Connect pipes using welding, cementing, or other joining methods
- Test pipes for leaks and ensure proper functioning
- Backfill trenches and compact soil to restore surface area
- Helpful to be able to read blueprints and or plans
- Must be able to read and set elevations
- Must be able read, cut and fill staking
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Pipelayer or similar role in the construction industry
- Knowledge of construction techniques and materials used in pipeline installation
- Familiarity with Primavera or other construction management software
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and blueprints
- Strong understanding of quality control procedures and OSHA regulations
- Experience supervising a team of workers on a construction site
