Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Service Lane Manager/Advisor, where you will lead the front-line customer experience in our automotive service department. This energetic role involves guiding customers through their vehicle service needs, providing expert advice, and ensuring a seamless and positive service journey. Your mechanical knowledge, sales skills, and passion for automotive repair will drive customer satisfaction and dealership success. As a key communicator between technicians and clients, you’ll manage service writing, estimate preparation, and upselling opportunities to maximize revenue while delivering exceptional service.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assess their vehicle service needs with enthusiasm and professionalism
- Prepare accurate estimates using estimating software, including auto estimating and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools
- Communicate effectively with clients about repairs, maintenance options, and additional upselling opportunities such as transmissions, brakes, oil changes, alignments, suspension work, tire services, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brakes, and collision repairs
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of services
- Manage the entire service process from intake to delivery while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction
- Promote automotive repair services through proactive upselling strategies to enhance dealership revenue
- Maintain thorough knowledge of dealership services including automotive diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and specialty services like diesel engines
- Foster strong client communication by explaining repair procedures clearly and building lasting customer relationships
Experience
- A Minuim of 5 years experience in dealership or automotive service environments as a Service Advisor
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage people
- Strong mechanical background with hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance procedures
- Familiarity with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools
- Knowledge of automotive systems such as transmissions, brakes, suspensions, alignments, tire services, oil changes, collision repair, and diesel engine repairs
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally
- Experience in auto sales or upselling within an automotive setting is highly desirable
