TX PAC FIELD CANVASSING MANAGER

Position Title: Field Canvassing Manager

Location: Pasadena, TX (Houston area)

Employment Type/Status: Full-Time contract employee with Mijente (c3,c4 & PAC)

Reports To: TX State Director

Start Date: Sep. 8th

End Date: Nov. 6th

Overview

Mijente is seeking a highly motivated and strategic Field Canvassing Manager to lead the independent expenditure voter‑contact program in support of a congressional race.

The Field Canvassing Manager will be responsible for executing a comprehensive field plan designed to maximize voter engagement, persuasion, and turnout through Election Day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute field plan — implement door‑to‑door canvassing, persuasion, and turnout operations.
  • Recruit and train canvassers — hire, onboard, and manage a high‑performing canvassing team.
  • Manage daily field operations — oversee paid canvassing teams, including shift management, performance oversight, and adherence to campaign standards.
  • Prepare precincts and materials — ensure precinct assignments, scripts, walk pieces, and updated information are ready before each shift.
  • Assign precincts — manage turf assignments and ensure canvassers are deployed efficiently.
  • Maintain data integrity — oversee list management, turf cutting, and accurate data entry in VAN and other tools.
  • Handle data issues — escalate problems with VAN to Directors immediately.
  • Confidentially manage collected data — safeguard all voter information and prohibit sharing with third parties.
  • Track goals and accountability — work with senior leadership, state director, and consultants to monitor daily, weekly, and overall voter‑contact benchmarks.
  • Coordinate with communications — align field operations with broader campaign strategy and messaging.
  • Provide nightly reporting — submit accurate nightly reports on metrics, progress to goals, and strategic adjustments (written without AI generation).
  • Maintain administrative systems — manage attendance, and gas stipend spreadsheets; update before the end of each shift.
  • Manage precinct tracker — maintain precinct tracker (if applicable) to support planning and deployment.
  • Participate in voter contact — walk precincts and/or make voter calls as part of campaign operations.
  • Support non‑partisan community events (if necessary) — assist with planning and executing civic, educational, or community‑based activities as needed to strengthen trusted relationships and deepen local engagement.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 cycles of electoral candidate campaigns or organizing experience, with at least one cycle in a leadership role preferred on a candidate campaign
  • Demonstrated success managing field programs and hitting voter contact goals
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in diverse communities
  • Proficiency with VAN and standard campaign field tools
  • Ability to work long hours, including evenings and weekends, in a fast-paced campaign environment
  • Access to reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license
  • Bi-lingual (preferred)

Compensation

● $4,500/Month

This is an independent contracting position with no employee benefits. The contractor will be paid according to the contract agreement, and is responsible for taxes associated with this contract.
