The Role
Mighty is seeking a hands-on Head of IT to own and shape our technology landscape. This is a high-impact "player-coach" role for someone who is excited to build.
As a key partner to our leadership, you will own the full IT domain—from our internal systems and corporate security (protecting critical client data) to providing technical partnership for our external-facing marketplace.
You will be leading a talented team and must have the genuine coding proficiency to mentor them, guide architecture, and earn credibility. This role is about aligning your team's execution with our business strategy and leadership goals. Our mission is to help build a secure, scalable, and high-performing tech environment.
What You’ll Do
Leadership & Strategy
- Partner with leadership and business stakeholders to develop and execute the complete IT roadmap, aligning technology initiatives with company-wide goals.
- Own and manage the IT budget, overseeing procurement, vendor negotiations, and technology investments.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of ownership and technical excellence.
- Serve as the primary technology partner to senior leadership, translating complex technical concepts into clear executive reports, business cases, and risk assessments.
Internal (Corporate) IT
- Oversee all internal IT operations, including network infrastructure, cloud services (Vercel, Azure, DigitalOcean), employee hardware, and helpdesk functions.
- Work with security functions in the company to design and enforce a robust, modern cybersecurity strategy to protect all corporate data, systems, and assets.
- Streamline and integrate internal business systems (email, reporting, ticketing) to improve operational efficiency.
External (Product) IT
- Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to help shape the technical roadmap for our B2B SaaS platform, driving the future scalability, reliability, and performance of our marketplace.
- Act as a key technical partner and mentor on new product initiatives, providing hands-on architectural guidance to the team.
- Utilize your coding competency to review code, mentor engineers, and maintain technical credibility with the team.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role (e.g., Head of IT, IT Director) within a SaaS, marketplace, or fast-paced technology company.
- Demonstrable experience managing both internal corporate IT and external-facing, revenue-generating product platforms.
- Strong financial acumen with direct experience creating and managing IT budgets.
- Exceptional communication skills, with a specific ability to create and deliver clear, concise reports and presentations for an executive audience.
- A player-coach who can operate at all altitudes: you excel at high-level strategic planning and budgeting but also possess the hands-on technical competency to guide your team’s architectural decisions and mentor engineers effectively.
- Experience leading initiatives and managing teams, prioritizing a collaborative and empowering management style.
This is a full-time, remote role.
- Compensation: $150-175 20% bonus
