Job Title: Senior Marketing Specialist

About Mighty Spark
Mighty Spark is a small and growing food company headquartered in Minneapolis, MN, producing high-quality, delicious chicken products. We believe in eating well and giving back in a real way, so in partnership with our retail customers & Feeding America, we donate 1 million meals annually to ignite positive change and help reduce food insecurity.
- Mission: To unleash the power of a small spark that ignites meaningful change
- Vision: To elevate chicken to its rightful place in healthy meat snacking
- Values: Community, Originality, Balance – these values reflect our business from the inside-out, from our culture to our partnerships and ultimately, our consumer
- Community: We feel a deep connection to and appreciation for our communities. We give back and support our neighborhoods, and we celebrate people coming together to work towards a shared goal.
- Originality: We’re creative and inventive. We take a unique, fresh approach and embrace doing things we haven’t tried before.
- Balance: We hustle, we juggle, and we’re driven to get it all done – but we also seek balance, whether that’s in managing different priorities at once or enjoying food that’s both flavorful and healthy.
Mighty Spark HQ is in Loring Park in downtown, Minneapolis. This role must be located in Minneapolis and working in the office a few days per week, with a hybrid schedule depending on the needs of the team and role.
Role Overview
We’re on the hunt for a passionate, driven marketing professional looking to grow their career in a dynamic, exciting, and supportive environment. This role is multi-faceted and will allow you to support across all parts of the marketing communications environment – from grassroots, sampling, and events, to digital and social, to the complex world of e-commerce and retail media. This is a MarComm generalist role, not a specialist in any certain realm of marketing (i.e., social media, events, etc.) The role will be both tactical and strategic – the ideal fit won’t shy away from ‘getting their hands dirty’ and getting into the weeds across various tactics and support functions, but is also comfortable raising their hand, sharing their opinion, and proposing – and executing – ideas and strategies to drive the business forward.
What You’ll Do
Retailer/Shopper Marketing Program Execution:
Shopper marketing is an important part of our marketing strategy and will be a key part of this role. Details:
- In partnership with Marketing, Sales, and Agency Partners, plan, track, and execute various shopper marketing tactics, including demos/sampling, coupons, and other promotional tactics
- Lead the creation, deployment, and measurement of all coupons at the brand and retailer level
- Act as primary contact for various partners/vendors to manage and execute shopper/retail programs
Grassroots & Sampling Program
Support the development and execution of a holistic grassroots and sampling program to drive trial of Mighty Spark products across relevant businesses & organizations, influential individuals, and interested parties. Details:
- Outbound and inbound communication with relevant parties
- Shipping product to designated locations
- Responding to consumer questions and requests; sending digital or physical coupons
- Overall project management – organization, tracking, and measurement of key activities
- Additional ideas and creative thinking welcome!

- Support influencer and Mighty Spark fan/ambassador programs
- Participate in content review/approvals, paid social campaigns, reporting, and more

- Support digital marketing and media campaigns in partnership with Marketing Team and Agency Partner(s)
Creative & Asset Development
- Project manage and support creative development of brand & campaign assets as needed, including but not limited to sales support material, event/trade show assets, website or digital assets, creative assets for media plan, etc.
General Marketing & Sales Support:
- We are in growth mode and opportunities are constantly coming up for us to pitch Mighty Spark for additional sales and distribution vehicles. How our brand shows up is important in these scenarios, and they can require a need to act quickly – respond to requests, send sample products, create a new support asset, print sales materials, etc. This role must be ready to jump in and help as things come up, no matter how big or small the task!
Who You Are
- Versatile & dynamic – must be willing to wear multiple hats and have a mentality to figure things out, be comfortable in the uncomfortable at times
- Creative thinker – a ‘go-getter’ attitude and a fearlessness in figuring it out! We don’t expect perfection and you’ll always have support, but we expect comfort in trying new things, seeking solutions and answers, and sharing your perspective to move projects along
- Critical thinker – strong ability to think on your feet and solve problems as they arise
- Driven & motivated – comfort and confidence to self-start and self-manage is important in a small company and on a small team
- Excellent communicator – communication is core to who you are. You’re comfortable being in the middle of multiple concurrent projects, regularly sharing updates and managing stakeholders, being in direct communicator with vendors, internal partners, and, at times, consumers, across all mediums
