What are the responsibilities and job description for the Afterschool Mentor - Sammamish (For Winter Program) position at Mighty Coders?
In Mighty Coders, we believe that coding is the closest thing to a superpower; therefore, our students are superheroes. Our students gain lifelong skills such as logic, problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration as they learn our curriculum and work on our projects.
As an Afterschool Code Mentor, you’ll work in an elementary school in Sammamish, WA. While the exact location and schedule of each school is still being finalized, rest assured that it will be within the area you'll apply for and between 3:30 to 5:30 pm on a weekday.
Here are the responsibilities for this position:
- Work at an Elementary school IN-PERSON
- Take attendance for the students' IN-PERSON
- Follow our teaching program, either Scratch or JavaScript
- Create a positive and safe environment where students can grow
- Allow students to be picked up by their parents. Follow school release protocol.
- Keep the classroom clean to ensure a pleasant experience for all
- Write notes and progress reports for all students. Provide feedback to parents after working with students.
- Report weekly to the Operations Manager.
We have openings for other locations such as Bothell and Redmond. One school assignment is equivalent to 1.5 hours every week. You are welcome to apply for more than one location.
