Mighty Bread Company is a James Beard nominated retail bakery with a café in East Passyunk and another location in Rittenhouse. We are looking for a prep/line cook to add to our growing team.

This position is full time. We are a very busy restaurant. Some days are dedicated prep shifts and some days are shifts on the line. We need an all-stations cook and yes, we’re talking brunch. If you have experience in this area that’s a plus but it is not required.
Ideal candidate has a strong culinary background, is detail oriented, a team player, and very well organized. If you are eager to learn, positive and hardworking, let's hang.

Essential functions of hybrid prep cook / line cook role:
- Train thoroughly to be able to execute all kitchen prep tasks, including:
- Vegetable prep
- Using meat slicer for meats and cheese
- Vinaigrettes and sauces
- Packaging of kitchen retail goods for wholesale and café sale
- Soups
- Train thoroughly to execute menu items across all stations to Mighty Bread’s quality standards
- Ability to give attention to multiple tasks at a given time.
- Advanced organizational skills
- A very high level of attention to detail and quality.
- Keeps workspace safe and clean, including food safety procedures, scrubbing and sanitizing surfaces, sweeping and mopping floors, removing recycling and trash, etc.
- Positively responds to direction, feedback, and requests for assistance from co-workers and managers
- Takes initiative to help other members of the kitchen team
- Engages in department operations by using Slack and kitchen prep sheets and order guides.
Physical requirements of this role:
- Service is 8 hours long! This is longer than most dinner service restaurants.
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift for a full shift.
- Dexterity and accuracy with knives, slicers and other kitchen tools.
- Ability to work safely in narrow environments with other people.
Success in this role looks like:
- Accurate, consistent, and tidy execution of all menu items to the Mighty Bread standard set by chef and sous chef.
- Accurate, consistent, and tidy execution of all prep items to Mighty Bread standard set by chef, sous chef and prep lead.
- Ability to self direct to the most urgent tasks, prioritizing the customer experience at all times.
- Positive, direct, and thorough communication with all Mighty Bread staff and managers across departments.
