Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Experienced Fabricator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming raw materials into precise, high-quality fabricated components used across various industries. Your expertise in welding, sheet metal work, and mechanical assembly will be essential to ensuring our products meet quality and safety standards. This position offers an opportunity to work on a wide range of projects from small repairs to larger more complex projects that require technical precision, innovative problem-solving, and craftsmanship. We are looking for someone with experience with aluminum and stainless steel as well as steel. Computer experience is a plus as there is room to grow into the management side of the shop. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately fabricate components.
- Operate various power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and machining equipment to shape and assemble metal parts.
- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), welding techniques with precision to meet project specifications.
- Use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to ensure dimensional accuracy according to blueprint requirements.
- Set up and operate rigging equipment and cranes for lifting heavy materials safely during fabrication or assembly processes.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols; conduct routine inspections of tools and equipment for proper operation.
- Operate Forklift, both loading and unloading vendors and to move material for projects and shop organization.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks and troubleshoot fabrication issues promptly to meet project deadlines.
Requirements
- Proven construction site experience or hands-on fabrication background in manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW, plasma cutting, and soldering, techniques.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately; familiarity with mechanical drawings is essential.
- Skilled in using calipers, hand tools, power tools, press and rollers.
- Knowledge of rigging procedures including crane operation for lifting heavy materials safely.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, basic math skills for measurements and calculations, and schematics interpretation.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; certification is a plus but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards related to fabrication; knowledge of manufacturing processes is highly desirable.
- Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
