Shop Technician

Position Type: Part Time or Full Time

Schedule: 8 hour shifts, Monday-Friday. 8am-5pm with an hour lunch

Description:

Midwest Welding & Machine is an authorized dealer for Adrian Steel, B&W Trailer Hitches and E-trailer. We are looking to add a Shop Technician to our team of certified technicians. In this role you will have a large variety of technical work; from installing hitches, vehicle shelving/storage systems, snowplow mounts, snowplow maintenance and more. We are looking for someone who likes to work with their hands and is mechanically inclined.

Responsibilities:

·        Install and repair snowplow & equipment

·        Repair and service a variety of trailers from utility to stock trailers

·        Provide diagnostic assessment of repair(s) needed

·        Provide technical services on vehicles, trailers, snowplows and equipment including troubleshooting, electrical and diagnostic services

·        Advise the staff if any additional repair work is needed

·        Assist in general maintenance on all in house service equipment as needed

·        Follow all safety procedures

·        Keep work area clean and organized

·        Keep accurate records of materials used

·        Tag all return warranty parts

Qualifications:

·        Ability to read and interpret Repair Orders.

·        Ability to read, listen and follow instructions

·        Must be able to lift 50-100lbs

·        Ability to work independently as well as work on a team

·        Ability to stand for 8 hours

·        High school diploma or equivalent

·        Mechanically inclined

·        Forklift certification preferred

·        Own set of mechanic tools and tool box

·        Must pass driving background check
