Midwest Underground Services (MUS) is seeking hardworking Telecommunications Laborers and Cable Pullers to join our growing team. This position focuses on pulling fiber optic and telecommunications cable, handling cable reels, figure-8 operations, and supporting outside plant (OSP) construction crews throughout the Midwest.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in the telecommunications industry. Previous telecom experience is preferred but not required—we will train motivated individuals with a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities
- Pull fiber optic and telecommunications cable through conduit systems
- Assist with cable placement and figure-8 operations
- Handle cable reels, pulling equipment, and job site materials
- Set up and maintain safe work zones
- Assist crews with utility construction activities
- Perform manual labor in various weather conditions
- Follow all company and customer safety requirements
- Maintain equipment, vehicles, and job sites
- Travel to projects throughout Iowa and surrounding states
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Willingness to travel during the work week
- Strong attendance and work ethic
- Telecommunications, construction, utility, or fiber experience is a plus
