Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, and dump trucks to support various construction activities.
- Assist with site preparation, grading, paving, and other foundational tasks using specialized equipment such as horizontal drilling rigs and heavy equipment..
- Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on all equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Support construction crews by handling materials, setting up work zones, and ensuring the smooth flow of operations across the site.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures diligently to maintain a secure work environment for yourself and team members.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to execute project plans efficiently while adhering to timelines.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, inspections, and work completed throughout each shift.
- Must be willing to travel.
- Many jobs are prevailing wage. Other jobs include per diem.
Experience
- Prior experience working on construction sites is highly preferred; familiarity with various heavy equipment is a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge related to operating excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, and dump trucks is a strong plus.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or ability to obtain one is advantageous for operating certain vehicles.
- Hands-on experience with horizontal drilling or paving projects will set you apart.
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and procedures is required to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment confidently is desirable.
- Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation are vital for success in this fast-paced environment.
