What are the responsibilities and job description for the Light Duty Roadside Technician position at Midwest Transit Logistics?
THE OBJECTIVE
Our regional dispatch network is actively expanding its decentralized operations across the Chicagoland area. We are experiencing a massive surge in roadside assistance requests from the Loop out to the deep suburbs. We need independent, highly motivated mobile responders who are ready to log in, deploy locally, and clear high volumes of light-duty service calls.
This is not a traditional clock-in/clock-out job. This is an independent partnership. You command your own vehicle, control your own radius, and dictate your own earning ceiling.
CORE OPERATIONS (High Volume / Rapid Completion) No heavy towing or advanced mechanical work. You will be responding directly to stranded motorists in your immediate vicinity.
- Rapid Battery Jumpstarts: Quick-deploy power boosts.
- Fuel & Fluid Delivery: Getting drivers back on the I-90/I-94 corridors fast.
PREMIUM OPERATIONS (High Margin) For providers looking to maximize their daily revenue, we offer access to higher-paying dispatch categories:
- Vehicle Cabin Access (Lockouts): Fast-entry techniques using standard commercial wedge and reach tools.
- Tire Swaps: Swapping flats for customer-provided spare tires.
THE NETWORK ADVANTAGE
- Zero Wait Time to Start: We offer accelerated digital onboarding. Submit your profile, receive our digital playbook, and you can be actively running calls this week.
- Uncapped Dispatch Flow: The harder you run, the more you take in. Our app routes calls directly to you based on your live GPS location.
- Hardware Acquisition: Don't have a commercial jump box or a lockout kit? We can facilitate immediate equipment provisioning to get you field-ready.
- 100% Gratuity Retention: You keep every single dollar tipped to you by local motorists.
PROVIDER REQUIREMENTS
- Mobility: A highly reliable personal vehicle (Sedan, SUV, or Truck) capable of navigating Chicago traffic and weather.
- Tech: A smartphone with active GPS routing (Waze/Google Maps) and a robust data plan.
- Drive: The ability to operate completely independently without a manager looking over your shoulder.
- Professionalism: A calm, solution-oriented attitude when dealing with stressed drivers.
