Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Delivery Driver for a direct hire position to join our logistics team. This role involves safely transporting goods to various destinations, ensuring timely deliveries, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, experience with commercial vehicles, and a commitment to safe lifting and handling practices. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to efficient operations while maintaining high safety standards across all delivery activities.
M-F 6:00am - 2:30pm or until routes are done
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a box truck or similar commercial vehicle to deliver goods according to assigned routes and schedules
- Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or forklifts, adhering to safe lifting practices
- Ensure accurate loading and securement of items to prevent damage during transit
- Follow DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and company policies during all driving and delivery activities
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating professionally with clients upon delivery and addressing any inquiries or concerns
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections, report maintenance needs, and ensure the vehicle remains in optimal condition
- Adhere to weight handling guidelines in the workplace, ensuring compliance with safety standards for manual handling and moving heavy items
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, courier, or in a similar role involving route driving and load & unload responsibilities
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory depending on vehicle type
- Experience operating box trucks or similar vehicles with manual transmission is highly desirable
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices for commercial vehicles
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as heavy lifting while maintaining safety standards
- Familiarity with weight handling in the workplace and safe moving procedures
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while following safety protocols
