Job Description
The Program Supervisor provides day to day supervision of all Service Coordinators and Direct Support Professionals assigned to the program; and assists the Director in all aspects of program operations. We are seeking a dedicated individual who is comfortable providing leadership in a team environment and is committed to providing quality, person-centered services.
1. Identify training needs and train assigned persons to successfully complete job tasks. Identify and implement job modifications, and training methods that will increase the probability of job success for the person receiving services.
2. Ensure that the community employer’s work standards and quality requirements are fully communicated to the person receiving services.
3. Implement individualized service plans as directed. Provide feedback to person served and document progress.
4. Provide job related counseling and support to assigned individuals at their job and in the community as needed.
5. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with employers. Act as a resource for employers in job modification, reasonable accommodations, alternative communication systems etc. that will increase the likelihood of successful placement and employer satisfaction.
6. Monitor progress of assigned persons served and give input to Job Placement Specialist by observing, case noting, and verbally communicating an individual’s progress in a timely manner.
Qualifications
A minimum of 2 years of supervision or demonstrated leadership role in a human service field related to adult disability services. Must also have: (a) A four-year degree in related area of study and one year of work experience with persons with disabilities; or (b) A two-year college degree in related area of study and two years of work experience with persons with disabilities. Candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work both independently and cooperatively with coworkers and supervisors. Must have strong customer relations skills and relate well with people with disabilities, coworkers, supervisors, funders, family members and other rehabilitation professionals.
Must have basic computer skills and be comfortable working with Microsoft Office applications. Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable as determined by our insurance carrier. Preference will be given to candidates with supervision experience in a vocational setting, experience in 245d licensed programs or to those with experience providing services to people with disabilities.
