Regional Retail Banking Operations Manager
Department: Retail Banking
Reports To: Operations Officer
FLSA Class: Exempt
This position provides Bank Policy and Procedures training for the retail banking staff ensuring compliance, provides assistance to retail banking staff for technical issues as needed, assists Operations Officer with duties as requested and serves as backup when needed in the retail banking departments, and may perform line duties of retail banking when assistance is needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Provide training and assistance to retail banking department when needed to answer questions
· Train and develop retail banking staff on bank procedures following compliance, laws, and regulations
· Oversee exceptions to processing of retail banking operations to include teller and deposit accounts
· Develop procedures for retail banking in compliance to Bank’s policies
· Perform retail banking audits and reporting exceptions and track exceptions to resolve outstanding issues
· Visit our retail banking centers to conduct training
· Make recommendations for disciplinary actions for retail banking staff when necessary, along with coordination with banking center’s area president
· Conduct routine retail banking meetings
· Attend meetings for retail banking, IT committee, Asset and Liability Committee, and compliance committee when requested
· Follow procedures keeping security of bank in mind, maintain confidentiality of all non-public information including financial and other information concerning customers, prospective customers, customer lists, records, data, and proprietary business information not generally available to the public
· Assist with resolution of audits and compliance examination’s findings
· Demonstrate knowledge of the banking laws and regulations, including the IRAs, Bank Secrecy Act, Reg. CC, Reg. E, and others relative to the job responsibilities
· Assist with performance appraisals for staff as related to retail banking operations
· Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory responsibilities:
As retail banking staff reports to the area president of each banking location, this position has indirect supervisory responsibilities over staff and department in operations only. Hiring and disciplinary decisions are recommended with further approval of the area president or senior management.
Job qualifications:
· Education: Associate’s degree from a two-year college or technical school
· Experience: One to two years related experience in retail banking operations.
· Language skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of people.
· Mathematical skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest and percentages
· Reasoning ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form
· Other skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks with efficiency and proficiency in computer skills to include Excel and Word
