- Plan and organize survey field activities timely and accurately.
- Operate robotic total stations, GPS equipment, data collectors and drone equipment.
- Ensure proper care, maintenance and calibration of surveying equipment and tools.
- Ensure accuracy and precision of survey work, including verification of data and cross-checking of measurements.
- Perform physically demanding tasks including shoveling, lifting heavy objects, operating motor vehicles and utilizing small power equipment.
- Establish survey control points and site benchmarks.
- Measure stockpiles and calculate material volumes.
- Complete construction staking for site development. Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Prior surveying experience preferred.
- Prior drone experience preferred.
Work Requirements
- Must be 18 years in age or older.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal/motor vehicle background check.
- Must obtain and maintain FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot certificate within six (6) months of employment and maintain certifications as required.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and meet the company MVR requirements.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
- Regular, on-time and consistent attendance is required and must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
- Must be able to travel as required.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- Must be proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook, and database software. Must be able to utilize internet and communicate effectively.
- Ability to read, comprehend and write simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical skills such as addition, subtraction and multiplication.
- Able to work independently with attention to detail.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions from supervisors to complete assigned tasks.
- Must display a willingness and ability to work in and adapt to changes in circumstances, tasks, customer needs and other conditions that may affect their daily responsibilities.
- Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and MHSA.
Physical Requirements
- The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, balance, crawl, kneel, crouch, bend, pull, push, climb stairs, ladders, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders.
- May require sitting or standing on hard surfaces for extended periods of time.
- Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Able to communicate with others verbally and in writing as well as utilize a computer, phone and tablet.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
