The HR Manager serves as a tactical leader within the Human Resources department, responsible for managing assigned HR programs, benefits administration, administrative processes, and project-based initiatives. This role ensures consistent execution of HR operations across all MRS locations by coordinating resources, monitoring progress, supporting compliance practices, analyzing HR metrics, and driving improvements related to training, performance management, employee retention, systems, workflows, and overall HR service delivery. The HR Manager also collaborates with HR team members and business leaders to implement initiatives that support departmental and company objectives.

General Accountabilities include:

  • Manage companywide benefits administration processes, including enrollment accuracy, vendor and system coordination, employee issue escalation, open enrollment planning, and process improvement recommendations.
  • Analyze self-funded benefits data to support strategic benefit changes that improve utilization and control costs for both the employer and employee.
  • Develop, monitor, and coordinate employee retention strategies by analyzing turnover trends, identifying risk areas, recommending targeted interventions, and measuring the effectiveness of retention initiatives.
  • Manage the company performance review cycle, including process timelines, manager communications, completion tracking, follow-up, and continuous improvement recommendations.
  • Manage and maintain the company’s Learning Management System (LMS), ADP Workforce Now.
  • Analyze HR metrics, employment trends, turnover data, compliance activity, and workforce indicators to prepare reports and recommendations for HR leadership and management.
  • Support HR projects and initiatives from planning, through execution by identifying required HR support, coordinating resources, monitoring progress, and ensuring consistent implementation across the organization.
  • Partner with the Director of Human Resources to design, prioritize, and implement HR programs, training, process improvements, and initiatives that support departmental and company goals.
  • Monitor compliance practices across assigned HR functional areas, recommend policy or process improvements, and support implementation of best practices to reduce employment-related risk.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR systems, workflows, reporting, and service delivery to increase efficiency, consistency, and employee satisfaction.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. 

Qualifications & Skills Required:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certifications: PHR or SHRM-CP certification is highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Minimum of two years of experience with self-funded benefits administration.
    • Experience with mergers and acquisitions.
    • Background in wellness programs and employee training preferred.
    • Five years of progressively responsible HR generalist experience in a multi-state environment, including employment law and regulations, high-volume recruitment and selection, and employee relations.
    • Strong computer and technology skills, including Microsoft Office, HRIS, LMS, and applicant tracking systems. (ADP Workforce Now, experience preferred)
    • Demonstrated knowledge of HR laws, including ADA and EEO requirements.
  • Soft Skills:

  • Ability to build effective relationships with employees and managers.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong time management skills in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Prerequisites:

Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment using a laptop, keyboard, and monitor. Employees must wear all required safety equipment when visiting warehouse facility locations.
