Bilingual Overnight Treatment Technician

Description

We are seeking Treatment Technicians to serve Midwest Recovery & Primer Paso in Northfield, MN. Midwest Recovery & Primer Paso is an inpatient drug and alcohol treatment service. We are a community-based program that proudly and ethically provides services to individuals experiencing hardships related to substance use disorders. Our focus is on you and how your personal strengths can enhance your recovery.

Hours:

Part-Time 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Responsibilities

  • Take appropriate measures to meet the residents daily basic needs for health and safety including but not limited to the following tasks:
  • a) serve meals
  • b) conduct safety checks
  • c) monitor residents according to the assigned levels of observation
  • d) assist in maintaining a clean work environment
  • e) other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
  • Complete all required electronic and paper charting, documentation and data entry of residents as outlined in the appropriate SUD guidelines, manuals, policies, and procedures.
  • Demonstrate verbal de-escalation skills and attend agency mandated trainings.
  • Participate in clinical activities as directed by a supervisor including but not limited to a) facilitate approved group activities
  • b) conduct ongoing observation and evaluation of resident mental status during each shift
  • c) record resident nutritional intake and sleep if appropriate
  • d) other clinical activities as directed by a supervisor.
  • Complete all paperwork involved in providing direct resident care including but not limited to
  • a) paperwork relating to admission and discharge
  • b) confidentiality
  • c) resident rights
  • d) resident inventories
  • e) tracking sheets
  • f) other forms as needed
  • Keep current on all required documentation.
  • Observes, documents, and reports resident physical and psychological behavior.
  • Develops respectful relationships with residents and those persons significant to the resident.
  • Encourages and assists clients in daily living activities; Performs crisis intervention and notifies Supervisor as needed Participates in the discharge process.
  • Observes residents for changes in behavior, monitors activities of residents, motivates residents to participate in activities, and also guides and advises residents in their personal adjustment utilizing verbal de-escalation techniques. Interprets the resident handbook for residents as needed; applies applicable rules and regulations to residents.
  • Advises and guides residents on personal hygiene habits. Monitors and tracks compliance with self-administered medication process if instructed. Oversees collection of urine specimen for drug screens. Assists residents in gathering/obtaining personal property when discharged.
  • Answers phones and provides other administrative support as needed.
  • Provides guidance to other staff regarding coordination of client services.
  • Ensures more administrative support and program compliance with the activity schedule.
  • May attend staff meetings; co-facilitates staff meetings.
  • Maintains and organizes client case files.
  • Assists with care in delivering direct care for those with substance disorders or with co-occurring substance and psychiatric disorders.
  • Provides admission/orientation to residents and their families and completes all applicable documentation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with six months relevant work experience preferred, State Driver License required prior to transporting clients.
  • Able to successfully pass a MN Department of Human Services background check.
  • Spanish Speaking
  • A valid driver's license with no accidents within the past two years
  • Free from problematic substance use for a minimum of 24 months.
