Midwest Plastic Engineering Inc is looking for a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our team in Sturgis, MI. Responsibilities:
- Inspect finished plastic components and assemblies for defects, dimensional accuracy, and compliance with specifications
- Perform in-process and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools
- Document inspection results, non-conformances, and quality reports accurately
- Collaborate with production teams to identify root causes of defects and support corrective actions
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and quality standards
- Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment in accordance with quality procedures
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and ISO/quality management system compliance
Requirements:
- Prior experience in quality inspection, preferably in plastics, injection molding, or manufacturing
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gages, etc)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Solid written and verbal communication skills for documentation and team collaboration
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification a plus
Job Details:
- All new hires at Midwest Plastic are onboarded through our preferred staffing agency
- Starting rate of pay $17.50, increases to $19.45 after completing probationary period with staffing agency
- Work hours: 3:30pm to 12:00 am. 30 minute unpaid lunch.
