Position: General Contractor Superintendent
Location: Omaha or Lincoln, NE
Travel: 50% within the Midwest region (frequent overnight hotel stays required)
Position Overview:
The General Contractor Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role requires strong leadership, effective communication, and a deep understanding of construction processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of fostering productive relationships with project teams, clients, and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of on-site personnel and subcontractors.
- Develop and manage work schedules, monitor project progress, and allocate resources effectively.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers and clients to establish project budgets, timelines, and goals.
- Coordinate material and equipment deliveries with vendors and suppliers.
- Create and maintain three-week look-ahead schedules for Project Managers and subcontractors.
- Maintain accurate daily logs and weekly quality and safety inspections in Procore.
- Proactively identify and resolve issues affecting schedule, safety, or quality.
- Partner with Project Managers to manage change orders, update schedules, and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Monitor project progress to ensure milestones and deadlines are achieved.
- Lead and participate in weekly or biweekly Owner–Architect–Contractor (OAC) meetings.
- Schedule and coordinate necessary project inspections.
- Participate in final walkthroughs and project handoff meetings.
- Ensure compliance with all site-specific PPE and safety requirements, communicating expectations clearly to all personnel.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent or similar supervisory role within general contracting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and building codes.
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, resource management, and cost control.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
- Certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety and Health or Certified Construction Manager (CCM).
- Proficiency with construction management and scheduling software (e.g., Procore, MS Project).
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing large-scale commercial or industrial projects.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
