Parts Manager

The Parts Manager is responsible for the overall performance, profitability, and operation of the Parts Department. This role oversees inventory management, purchasing, pricing strategies, customer service, and staff development to ensure efficient operations and high levels of customer satisfaction. The Parts Manager works closely with Service, Body Shop, and Sales departments to support internal and external customers while maintaining strong financial performance and inventory control.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Department Leadership and Staff Management
  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate Parts Department employees
  • Foster a positive, productive, and customer-focused work environment
  • Conduct regular team meetings and provide ongoing training and development
  • Address employee performance, concerns, and disciplinary actions as needed
  • Ensure compliance with Company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
• Inventory Management and Purchasing
  • Maintain balanced inventory levels to support service, body shop, and retail needs
  • Monitor inventory turnover, obsolescence, and stocking levels
  • Establish and enforce purchasing procedures and special-order policies
  • Collaborate with leadership to optimize inventory investment and availability
  • Oversee shipping, receiving, and stock organization processes
• Sales, Customer Service, and Operations
  • Oversee counter sales, wholesale parts operations, and customer interactions
  • Ensure high-quality service for both internal and external customers
  • Handle customer concerns and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Develop and implement sales promotions and marketing initiatives
  • Coordinate with Service and Body Shop departments to ensure timely parts availability
• Financial Performance and Controls
  • Monitor department profitability, expenses, and key performance indicators
  • Analyze sales, inventory, and financial reports to drive performance improvements
  • Establish pricing strategies to maintain competitiveness and profitability
  • Assist with collections and ensure proper accounting of purchases and transactions
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with financial controls
• Compliance, Safety, and Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to parts operations
  • Enforce safety policies, including proper handling of materials and equipment
  • Maintain SDS documentation and OSHA compliance requirements
  • Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below are representative of those required. This position involves both office and warehouse environments, including interaction with employees, customers, and vendors. Employees are required to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally work in outdoor or warehouse conditions around moving equipment. Lifting up to 75 pounds may be required. Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• 5 years of experience in heavy-duty truck parts required
• Prior management or supervisory experience preferred
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including inventory and business systems.

• Knowledge of parts inventory control, purchasing, and merchandising
• Ability to analyze financial statements and departmental performance metrics
• Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills
• Effective communication and organizational skills

• Valid driver's license and ability to meet Company Insurability requirements
