Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture using straight stick techniques to ensure specimen integrity and patient safety
- Collect, process, and handle laboratory specimens accurately according to established protocols
- Obtain vital signs and assess patient physiology to ensure comfort and safety during procedures
- Maintain detailed documentation of procedures, patient information, and specimen collection in electronic health record (EHR) systems with precision and confidentiality
- Adhere strictly to laboratory procedures, safety standards, and infection control practices
- Lift supplies (15lb max) when necessary and manage specimen transportation with care to prevent contamination or damage
Experience
- Prior experience in medical laboratory work or clinical laboratory settings is highly preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy techniques, venipuncture, blood sampling, and specimen collection/handling
- Familiarity with hospital environments or healthcare facilities enhances your ability to adapt quickly to various clinical settings
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and laboratory procedures supports accurate testing and patient interactions
- Strong customer service skills combined with the ability to work independently while managing a flexible schedule are essential for success in this role
