What are the responsibilities and job description for the Night Dock Associate / Backup Delivery Driver $870/WEEK position at Midwest Moving Company?
We are seeking a physically fit, timely, and responsible individual to deliver automobile parts to auto and ag dealers in the region — and to serve as our dependable backup driver when a route driver calls off.
This is a night-shift position built around two things: working the dock Monday through Thursday nights, and being ready at a moment's notice to run a full route whenever we're short a driver. Every Friday night, you'll run a dedicated route of your own.
We need an integrity-driven individual who is self-motivated and will show up every night ready to work — and ready to drive.
SCHEDULE & PAY:
Monday – Thursday nights (Dock / Backup Driver):
- Dock shift approximately 11PM – 2AM
- Flat $140 per night
- Your primary role on these nights is to assist drivers on the dock, and be a backup driver. If a scheduled driver calls off, you step in and run their route.
- When you cover a route, you earn your $125 dock pay PLUS the full route pay for whatever route you run that night.
Friday night (Dedicated Route):
- Full route approximately 1AM – 12PM (Noon)
- $310 per route
- (Weather, traffic, and delays are likely and may extend hours)
This means a guaranteed base of $870 per week, with additional route pay on top every time you cover a call-off.
Because you must be ready to drive on any given night, every requirement below applies to all shifts — dock nights included.
Responsibilities:
- Report to the dock on time and ready to drive a full route if called upon
- Load and unload items with extreme care
- Ensure no items are damaged while moving
- Load and delivery scan each parcel
- Communicate with management any issues that arise
- Take inventory of items and ensure that no items are lost during transportation
Requirements:
- Clean motor vehicle record
- 1 years experience driving a box truck commercially
- Live within 30 minutes of Leetsdale
- Pass a drug test
- Capable of carrying a minimum of 100 lbs with the stamina to maintain a steady pace
- Punctual and professional
- Interpersonal skills to communicate with customers and team members
- High school diploma
- Consistency and reliability — especially the flexibility to run a route on short notice
