You won't inherit a mature HR department with every process already established. Instead, you'll help build the next generation of Midwest Metals by designing scalable people strategies, strengthening leadership, improving recruiting, developing managers, and ensuring our culture grows stronger as our company grows larger.

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Human Resources serves as a strategic partner to executive leadership and plant management. This leader will develop and execute HR strategies that support business growth while preserving the company's values, culture, and commitment to employees.
This position is based at our Adrian, Michigan headquarters with regular travel to our manufacturing facilities as needed.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
• Build a scalable HR function that supports continued multi-site growth.
• Develop leaders through coaching, accountability, and succession planning.
• Improve recruiting, onboarding, engagement, and retention.
• Implement meaningful HR metrics and analytics.
• Standardize HR processes while maintaining flexibility.
• Help make Midwest Metals an employer of choice.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead all Human Resources operations across multiple manufacturing locations.
• Partner with executive leadership on workforce planning and organizational development.
• Recruit, develop, and retain exceptional talent.
• Oversee compensation, benefits, performance management, employee relations, compliance, FMLA, and policy administration.
• Develop leadership training and succession planning initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement of HR systems, processes, and reporting.
• Support acquisitions, organizational integration, and future growth initiatives.
• Foster a culture of accountability, respect, safety, and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (master's preferred).
• Progressive HR leadership experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Multi-site experience strongly preferred.
• Experience developing leaders and building scalable HR processes.
• Knowledge of employment law, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and compliance.
• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
