Patient Services Representative (PSR)

Essential Job Responsibilities
- Greet and check patients in and out while providing excellent customer service.
- Verify patient demographics, identification, insurance information, and benefits.
- Collect copayments, balances, and other patient payments while maintaining accurate cash-handling procedures.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments, follow-up visits, referrals, and provider schedule changes.
- Answer incoming calls, respond to voicemails and text messages, and direct communications appropriately.
- Assist patients with questions regarding appointments, forms, insurance, referrals, and office procedures.
- Scan and maintain patient documents within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Communicate effectively with providers, clinical staff, billing, and fellow team members to support efficient patient care and office operations.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, OSHA, and practice policies.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned to support daily office operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of two years of customer service experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, referrals, and patient registration preferred.
- Experience using electronic medical records (EMR), practice management software, and Microsoft Office applications preferred.
- Excellent communication, customer service, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
Work Schedule
- Full-time, Monday through Friday.
- Shifts vary between 7:30 AM and 5:00 PM.
- Possible evening coverage once per month.
- Travel between office locations may be required.
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
