What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automation Technician position at Midwest Manufacturing?
POSITION SUMMARY: Perform day to day shop tasks as directed.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure regular preventative maintenance is performed on all equipment in shop
- Assist with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs in manufacturing operations
- Assist with equipment and site improvements
- Build industrial control panels to specification
- Work with all departments to ensure each system is working at maximum output
- Work with all departments on installation of new equipment and improvements on existing equipment
- Maintain a safe work environment
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree in Electro-Mechanical or Industrial Automation or 3 to 5 years’ experience in a directly-related field
- Interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs-70lbs
- Ability to effectively use hand tools
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Intermittent periods of bending, reaching, pulling, and stooping
- Ability to analyze situations and equipment
- Detail-orientated
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written
- Ability to work additional hours as required
- Willingness to move up within Midwest Manufacturing.
