Purpose:
Directs and controls parts operations for the assigned region to maximize return on investment through parts sales growth and the effective management of inventories, and budgets. Consistently exhibits Midwest Machinery Company’s core purpose and values.
Responsibilities:
- Works with Corporate Management in the region to maintain and manage the execution of the Aftermarket Strategic Business Plan for the organization
- Develops, communicates, enforces, and monitors effective Parts Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction as well as Parts Department efficiencies
- Monitors individual and overall Parts Department performance relative to parts sales, inventory management and expense control for the region in line with the organization’s objectives
- Facilitates the execution of parts advertising, marketing and promotional programs to grow parts sales for the organization as a whole.
- Monitors monthly Parts Department goals and budget for the region, in alignment with the organization’s financial and operational objectives
- Facilitates the organization’s Customer Satisfaction Program to enhance and maintain customer relationships relative to parts department support
- Actively monitors and manages the company aged parts inventory and plans accordingly
- Attends to, and resolves, inter-departmental issues in a fair and expedient manner
- Actively participates in a local civic, charitable or community organization
- Maintains and promotes a safe work environment. Demonstrates understanding of and ability to follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
- Performs other duties as assigned
Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge:
- Associates degree or equivalent experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3-5 years’ experience in managing Parts Department operations
- Ability to speak effectively one-on-one and within a group
- Excellent understanding of financial principles relative to Parts Department operations
- Familiar with John Deere and competitive products
- Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
- Basic business knowledge and math skills
- Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports
Physical and Mental and Other Requirements:
- Travel between locations; some out-of-state travel required
- Work environment is an office setting
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Occasional bending and stooping
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. occasionally
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record preferred
- Must pass a pre-employment background study
