Position Summary
The Demolition & Junk Removal Supervisor is responsible for leading daily field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the high standards our customers expect. This individual will supervise crew members, operate equipment, communicate with customers, and ensure every project is completed on schedule while maintaining a clean and organized job site.
This is a working supervisor position. You will be expected to lead by example while actively participating in demolition, hauling, loading, equipment operation, and job site cleanup.
ResponsibilitiesLeadership
- Supervise and motivate demolition and junk removal crews.
- Assign daily tasks and ensure work is completed efficiently.
- Maintain a positive, professional work environment.
- Hold crew members accountable for quality, productivity, and safety.
Project Management
- Review project scope before work begins.
- Ensure projects stay on schedule.
- Identify potential issues and communicate solutions.
- Perform final walkthroughs to verify quality before leaving each job.
- Report project progress to company management.
Demolition & Junk Removal
- Perform residential and commercial demolition.
- Complete selective interior demolition including:
- Kitchens
- Bathrooms
- Flooring
- Walls
- Ceilings
- Cabinets
- Concrete removal
- Load and haul debris.
- Sort recyclable materials whenever practical.
- Leave every job site clean and customer-ready.
Equipment Operation
Operate equipment safely, including:
- Mini skid steer
- Skid steer loaders
- Mini excavators
- Dump trailers
- Hydraulic breakers
- Demolition tools
- Hand and power tools
Customer Service
- Communicate professionally with homeowners, contractors, and project managers.
- Provide excellent customer service throughout the project.
- Address customer questions respectfully and professionally.
- Represent Midwest Demolition Services with integrity.
Safety
- Conduct daily safety briefings.
- Ensure OSHA safety practices are followed.
- Verify proper PPE is worn.
- Monitor dust control and containment procedures.
- Protect customer property from damage.
- Report incidents immediately.
Vehicle & Equipment Care
- Perform daily inspections of trucks, trailers, and equipment.
- Maintain clean company vehicles.
- Report maintenance concerns promptly.
- Ensure tools are organized and accounted for.
Qualifications
Preferred:
- 3 years of demolition, construction, or related experience.
- 1 year supervising crews.
- Experience operating skid steers and mini excavators.
- Ability to read project scopes and follow work plans.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
- Ability to obtain DOT medical card if required.
- CDL is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements
Applicants must be able to:
- Lift 50 pounds regularly.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Climb ladders.
- Stand, bend, kneel, and lift throughout the day.
- Wear PPE including respirators, hard hats, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
- Work overtime when necessary.
