Midwest Janitorial Service (MJS) is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Terminal Cleaning Specialist to join our healthcare environmental services team. This position plays a critical role in infection prevention by performing terminal cleaning of operating rooms and clinical areas in an Ambulatory Surgery Center.
This is more than a cleaning position—it is an opportunity to directly impact patient safety and support healthcare professionals through exceptional environmental services.
Responsibilities
- Perform terminal cleaning of operating and procedure rooms following the daily surgery schedule.
- Clean and disinfect patient care areas using hospital-grade disinfectants.
- Follow AHE (Association for the Health Care Environment) cleaning standards and MJS protocols.
- Properly use PPE and follow infection prevention procedures.
- Clean floors, walls, fixtures, lights, equipment, and high-touch surfaces.
- Restock supplies as needed.
- Complete required quality documentation and cleaning logs.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism within the healthcare environment.
Qualifications
- Healthcare or medical cleaning experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and work independently.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Dependable attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and remain on your feet throughout the shift.
