Midwest Independent BankersBank (MIB) is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Loan Documentation Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the administration and monitoring of our loan portfolio, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional service.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a customer-focused environment, working with financial documentation, and values collaboration and continuous improvement. In this position, you will partner closely with loan officers and team members while serving as a primary point of contact for loan-related inquiries.
What You’ll Do
- Review and process new loans, renewals, and modifications to ensure complete and accurate documentation
- Coordinate and prepare documentation required for loan closings
- Book and fund loans within the loan operating system
- Monitor and maintain loan files, ensuring all required documents are up-to-date and compliant
- Process and reconcile loan transactions with customer banks
- Audit daily loan activity and reconcile balances with the general ledger
- Prepare reports, summaries, and documentation requested by auditors, regulators, and examiners
- Assist in preparing monthly loan and board reports
- Maintain organized and accurate filing systems
- Provide high-quality customer service and serve as a first point of contact for incoming loan calls and emails
- Support team training and contribute to a collaborative work environment
What We’re Looking For

- Solid understanding of loan documentation and banking operations (preferred)
- Proficiency with financial systems and Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel

Required Education and Experience:
· Four year degree in business related field, preferable finance or accounting and/or four years of experience in a bank, financial, regulatory setting.
· Ability to work with a variety of computer software including Microsoft Office.
· Highly competent with exceptional organization skills.
· Detail oriented and capable of managing several different projects simultaneously.
Work Environment:
· On-site; Monday through Friday; 8:00am and 5:00pm; flexible work schedule may be possible.
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
