At Midwest Independent BankersBank (MIB), our Relationship Managers/Correspondent Bankers play a vital role in supporting community banks and financial institutions. We are seeking an experienced Correspondent Banker who excels at relationship management, understands banking issues and needs, and has a desire to help financial institutions grow and succeed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and expand relationships with community banks and financial institutions.
- Maintain extensive contact with customers and prospective customer banks in conjunction with the Sales Manager.
- Understand respondent bank’s strategic goals, financial condition, and operational needs.
- Identify opportunities to deepen relationships.
- Offer correspondent products and services including cash management and payment services, safekeeping and securities services, loan participation, audit services, etc.
- Coordinate internally with operations, lending, and others to promote delivery of exceptional service to customer banks.
- Represent MIB at various conventions, trade shows, meetings and events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in a business development field.
- Prior banking knowledge.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently.
- Willingness to travel within assigned territory as needed.
- Ideal candidates will have knowledge and prior interaction of the banks in Iowa through in-person calling efforts and/or attendance at bank conferences held in Iowa by the IBA or CBI associations.
