Summary of Position:
The Counter/Inside Sales Representative supports customers at the counter and by phone, processes orders in Trulinx, and builds hydraulic/industrial hose assemblies. This role combines customer service, product knowledge, sales support, and hands-on hose assembly work to meet customer needs efficiently and professionally.
Customer Service & Sales:
- Assist walk-in and phone customers with product selection and order fulfillment
- Enter orders accurately in Trulinx and navigate multiple computer programs with speed and accuracy
- Provide excellent service, identify customer needs, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
- Build and maintain strong business relationships with customers to support ongoing sales efforts
Hose Assembly & Warehouse Support:
- Build hydraulic and industrial hose assemblies to customer specifications
- Support inventory control, maintain organized workspace, and assist with shipping/receiving as needed
- Perform warehouse-related physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing, bending, and working in varying conditions
Order Processing & Administration:
- Process cash, credit, and check transactions for counter orders
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and support daily store operations
- Ensure compliance with company policies and maintain a professional, clean work environment
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required
- Customer service or counter sales experience preferred
- Prior hose, fittings, or industrial supply experience a plus
- Ability to quickly learn Trulinx and retain product knowledge
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in basic computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Windows)
- Ability to type 35–50 WPM
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Energetic, reliable, and a team-player with a positive attitude
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged standing, bending, lifting, and working in warehouse conditions
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. routinely, in adherence with Midwest Hose Safety Standards
- Comfortable working around machinery, light dust, and temperature fluctuations
