What are the responsibilities and job description for the Night Shift Spotter position at Midwest Foods?
Midwest Foods is a wholesale food distributor providing top quality food products to numerous food establishments in Chicago, surrounding suburbs, Michigan, Wisconsin and Indiana. Family owned and run company for two generations, we import fruits & vegetables from all over the country and other parts of the world to distribute to local markets. We are looking to complement our growth by selecting staff that will enhance our company’s mission to provide quality service and products.
Midwest Foods is looking to hire a Night Shift Truck Spotter. Spotters are responsible for parking and moving our trucks around the facility, as needed.
Schedule is Sunday-Friday, start times are between 7pm and 9pm. Saturdays and one alternating weekday off. Availability to work overtime and holidays is required.
Responsibilities:
- Drive and park straight trucks and box trucks
- Assist with light mechanic/maintenance work (change lightbulbs, etc.)
- Fuel trucks using fuel on company premises, as needed
- Check reefers on all trucks (all trucks are refrigerated)
- CDL is not required but preferred
Requirements:
- Must have a valid Driver’s License, with a clean driving record
- Minimum 3 years’ experience driving trucks
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen
- Must be available to work overtime and holidays
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Capable of following instructions and procedures
- Able to work outside every day
