Scope & Job Purpose
The Mental Health Counselor provides therapy, assessments, treatment planning, case management, and client advocacy, while collaborating with internal staff and community partners to support client care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct intakes, assessments, evaluations, treatment, and discharge planning
- Provide trauma-informed, client-centered mental health services
- Collaborate with staff to support appropriate levels of care
- Participate in clinical supervision
- Work effectively with diverse populations
- NPI and Ohio Medicaid enrollment (or willingness to obtain; assistance provided for Medicaid and Medicare enrollment)
- Ability to travel within assigned counties
- Strong communication, decision-making, and clinical judgment skills
- Knowledge of community mental health resources
- Team-oriented with ability to manage challenging situations professionally
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and electronic health records
