POSITION SUMMARY:
As an Optometric Technician, you play a vital role in helping our doctors deliver exceptional eye care. You’ll be at the center of the patient experience—gathering important clinical information, supporting exams, and ensuring each visit runs smoothly from start to finish.
In this dynamic role, you’ll:
- Guide patients through their visit by collecting medical histories and performing preliminary and specialized testing
- Assist doctors during exams to support accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans
- Prepare exam rooms and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment
- Help coordinate patient scheduling and flow throughout the day
- Deliver a high-quality, welcoming experience through clear communication and attention to detail

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare patients for eye examinations by communicating the features and benefits of our preliminary testing procedures.
- Perform all preliminary and any doctor requested tests on all patients.
- Assist optometrist and ophthalmologist with patient procedures.
- Coordinate patient scheduling and monitor patient flow throughout the office, properly communicating delays.
- Prepare exam room by cleaning instruments and maintaining inventory of medications and supplies.
- Provide a safe, clean, organized and inviting environment for both patients and staff.
- Perform other duties and assume various responsibilities as determined by the office manager or team lead, and doctor(s).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS (per ADA guidelines):
- Physical Activity: Standing for sustained periods of time, Stooping, Grasping, Lifting, Talking, Hearing.
- Physical requirements: Light work. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular basis from floor to waist, 5 lbs. from waist to shoulder, and 5 lbs. from shoulder to overhead.
- The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
