Responsibilities
Midwest Employers Casualty is currently looking for an Information Technology Intern who values learning about teamwork, collaboration, data analysis, and the software development lifecycle. Key functions include but are not limited to:
- Become familiar with the Agile Scrum methodology and assist teams with whiteboarding, planning, stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives.
- Observe and participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle including planning, requirements identification, solution development, and quality assurance testing.
- Analyze and audit data to assist with process improvements and automation.
- Use tools such as Copilot, SQL Server Management Studio, Confluence, and Jira
- Gain exposure to Azure cloud services such as Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage, Github actions, etc.
- Work with insurance and information technology professionals to deliver solutions that enable MEC’s core business.
We're looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
- Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Information Management or related discipline.
- Able to work effectively with others on the information technology team and with business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated interest in and ability to learn new concepts and tasks at a reasonable pace.
- A positive, team-oriented attitude, approachability, and openness to feedback.
- Able to commit to working in MEC’s office 12-18 hours per week.
