Summary

Plans, directs, and implements organization safety program to ensure safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Other duties include maintenance of safety manual to current standards, training employees, inspections and verifying all shops and offices are a safe place to work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

·        _____ Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.

·        _____ Plan, implement, and coordinate programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials.

·        _____Coordinate drug testing for pre-access to job sites

·        _____Prepares studies and analyzes of industrial accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies.

·        _____Inspects organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.

·        _____Provides information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions.

·        _____Leads the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.

·        _____Compiles and submits accident reports required by regulatory agencies.

·        _____Oversees the administration of workers' compensation program, including working with the insurance carrier to reduce employee lost time.

·        _____Represents the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs.

·        _____Reporting and keeping current logs storm water and resin usage.

·        _____Coordinating with our Environmental Consultant.

·        _____Maintains safety files and records to include scanning all documents and filing appropriately in the system as our company is paperless.

·        _____May require in and out of state, onsite visits to jobsites.

·        _____Overnight stays will be required on some projects


Qualifications/Experience

  • Excellent Organizational Skills
  • Working knowledge of Federal, State and Local laws to include Multi-state 
  • Ability to pay close attention to details, and present good planning, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential and/or sensitive information or issues.
  • Perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education and /or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  


Computer Skills

·        Must have knowledge and ability to navigate through pre-qualification entities such as Microsoft Outlook; Internet software; Microsoft Office Excel, Microsoft Office Word, and Microsoft Office Power Point; ISNetworld, Browz, Avetta, DISA, Verified First.

Language Skills

·        Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

·        Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

·        Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
