We are looking for a Ready-Mix Concrete Dispatcher to join our Topeka team. This is a fast-paced position responsible for coordinating concrete deliveries, communicating with customers and drivers, and keeping daily operations running efficiently.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Schedule and dispatch ready-mix concrete trucks based on customer needs and production schedules.
Enter and verify concrete orders, ensuring all details are accurate and complete.
Communicate with customers regarding delivery times, schedule changes, and special requirements.
Coordinate with drivers, plant personnel, sales, and management to keep deliveries on schedule.
Monitor orders, truck locations, demand, capacity, and delivery times.
Determine appropriate plant locations, travel times, and delivery routes.
Assist drivers with directions and locating job sites.
Identify and resolve scheduling and delivery issues quickly and professionally.
Handle customer questions and complaints with a focus on providing excellent service.
Maintain positive working relationships with customers, drivers, and coworkers.
Look for opportunities to improve efficiency, communication, and customer service.
Work overtime and varying hours as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Ready-mix concrete dispatch experience strongly preferred.
Previous experience in ready-mix, construction, transportation, or a related industry preferred.
High school diploma or GED required.
Strong communication, customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
Ability to learn and use dispatch, order-entry, and tracking software.
Ability to operate telephone and radio systems.
Must be dependable and able to work overtime as needed.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
Frequent use of computer, telephone, radio, and other office equipment.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
