Midwest Communications, Inc is seeking a full-time ACCOUNTANT to join our team in Wausau, WI. Our centralized accounting department, which serves multiple locations throughout the Midwest, is looking for an individual that is professional, self-motivated, team-orientated, and organized with the ability and desire to get the job done.
As our Accountant, you will…
- Support monthly close process including reconciling of accounts to general ledger
- Manipulate large amounts of data in excel to produce effective summaries and journal entries
- Maintain vendor information and prepare information returns for review
- Maintain contesting records and ensure compliance with reporting requirements and disclosure regulations
- Assist with fixed asset record maintenance
- Prepare other governmental reports including personal property tax returns and sales and use tax returns for review
- Assist in the company’s financial audits
- Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, vendors and others in a professional and courteous manner
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies
We are asking you to…
- Have a degree in accounting or a minimum of five years of experience in an accounting or finance related role
- Have a high level of organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities
- Be able to meet critical deadlines
- Be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
