Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cast Stone Mold Builder to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, assembling, and finishing molds used in the production of decorative cast stone elements. Your expertise in fabrication, mechanical knowledge, and safety protocols will ensure the creation of high-quality molds that meet precise specifications. Responsibilities
- Construct and assemble cast stone molds using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment according to blueprint specifications.
- Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts and other equipment safely to handle materials and move components within the workspace.
- Measure and verify dimensional accuracy of molds using tape measures, calipers, and other precision tools to ensure compliance with design standards.
- Follow safety regulations by wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including respiratory protection, gloves, eye protection, and steel-toed boots during all tasks.
- Finish stone surfaces through polishing, grinding, and detailing to achieve desired textures and aesthetic qualities.
- Handle materials carefully during fabrication and assembly processes to prevent damage or defects in the molds.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace by adhering to safety protocols, proper materials handling procedures, and warehouse standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or construction environments with knowledge of millwork or stone finishing preferred.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy machinery such as forklifts safely and effectively.
- Mechanical aptitude with understanding of blueprint reading, dimensional measurements, and following detailed specifications.
- Familiarity with safety standards in production environments including PPE use, safety regulations for heavy equipment operation, and materials handling procedures.
- Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations related to mold construction.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent hand-eye coordination for finishing work like polishing and stone detailing.
- Warehouse experience or familiarity with materials storage and inventory management is a plus.
