Student Ministry Director (Grades 6–12) – Full-Time

Midway Locust Grove Church is seeking a Christ-centered, relational leader with a heart for middle and high school students. This role is focused on discipleship, relationship-building, and helping students grow in their faith while becoming active members of the church community.
Role Overview
The Student Ministry Director provides leadership and spiritual care for students in grades 6–12 through weekly gatherings, discipleship, volunteer leadership, and special events. This position partners closely with parents and church leadership to nurture students’ spiritual growth.
In addition to student ministry, this full-time role includes general church support as needed, with responsibilities shaped in part by the candidate’s gifts, strengths, and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and lead engaging weekly student ministry gatherings, Bible studies, and small groups.
- Teach Scripture in a Biblically faithful and age-appropriate way.
- Build meaningful relationships with students and provide pastoral care.
- Recruit, train, and support adult volunteers.
- Plan and oversee retreats, camps, and mission opportunities.
- Communicate regularly with parents and partner with families in discipleship.
- Manage the student ministry budget and basic administrative tasks.
- Collaborate with church staff and attend key church meetings and events.
Qualifications
- A growing, authentic relationship with Jesus Christ and a life marked by integrity.
- Alignment with the mission and beliefs of Midway Locust Grove Church.
- 2–3 years of experience in student/youth ministry (paid or significant volunteer leadership).
- Strong relational, communication, and organizational skills.
- Understanding of adolescent development and youth culture.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time salaried position (40 hours per week).
- Regular schedule includes Sundays (9:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. worship; 3:30–6:30 p.m. student ministry).
- Flexible weekday hours; occasional evenings, weekends, and overnights for events.
- Salary range $38,000-$42,000. Compensation commensurate with experience.
Background check and child protection training required.
