Shop location is in the Crown Point, Indiana area. Crew members report to the shop each morning before traveling to job sites throughout Indiana and surrounding states.

Midway Drilling Services is looking for a dependable Drilling Assistant to support environmental drilling crews. This is a hands-on, outdoor position working around heavy equipment with a small team.
Candidates with 1–2 years of environmental drilling or environmental field experience are preferred, but we will train the right person. This role offers a clear path to becoming a Driller.
Pay is based on experience and qualifications.
What the job looks like
Most days start early at the shop, then crews head to job sites to complete drilling, sampling, or installation work. Some jobs are local, while others may involve short regional travel. This is physical, hands-on work that requires teamwork and reliability.
Responsibilities
• Assist with setup, operation, and breakdown of drilling equipment
• Load and unload tooling, materials, and samples
• Collect soil samples and assist with field logs
• Support drilling operations including handling tools and cleanup
• Drive company vehicles to job sites
• Help with basic equipment maintenance
• Follow safety procedures and work as part of a crew
Requirements
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
• Ability to pass drug and background screening
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card
• Ability to meet OSHA medical requirements for HAZWOPER work
• Strong work ethic and reliable attendance
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather and perform physical labor
Preferred
• 1–2 years of environmental drilling, or environmental field experience
• 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification (training provided if needed)
• Mechanical or equipment experience
