Job description
Midway Chevrolet is a family owned and operated Plainwell, MI based automotive repair shop. We are seeking a Shop Technician to join our team. Our Shop Technicians are responsible for the repair and maintenance of all automotive vehicles in our shop.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs on all vehicles, including engine, transmission, suspension, electrical, fuel system, air conditioning, brakes, tires, exhaust, electrical steering and suspension systems
- Perform preventative maintenance on vehicle systems and fluids
- Diagnose and repair vehicle electrical systems ( headlights, taillights, lights under the hood etc.)
- Repair vehicle mechanical systems (e.g. brake systems, steering)
- Clean vehicle bodies and exterior to ensure they are clean and acceptable for customers (repairs as needed)
- Provide customers with outstanding customer service (e.g. answering questions about services or vehicles by which they cannot perform in their own vehicles)
- Complete forms for warranty claims and service reports accurately and in a timely manner
- Keep work area clean and organized at all times
- Follow procedures for scheduled appointments to ensure that we are on time (overnight hours apply)
- Follow all company policies and procedures set forth in the company handbook and be compliant with OSHA safety regulations

- Assist other technicians as needed to ensure that services are completed on time
Skills & Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred; Automotive repair experience preferred but not required. Valid driver’s license required.Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted. Must be able to stand for long periods of time while working on a vehicle. Must be able to wear protective equipment such as safety glasses while working on vehicles.Must be able to follow instructions without assistance.Must be able to work well with others.Midway Chevrolet is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
