What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rail Terminal Operator position at Midstream Energy Partners (USA), LLC?
Job Summary
This position is responsible for safely and efficiently operating and maintaining rail & terminal process equipment, and off-loading rail cars containing Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) to transport truck trailers as scheduled by our scheduling team and in accordance with federal, state, city, and Company guidelines.
Duties
- Achieve all scheduled rail offloading & truck loading safely and compliantly.
- Coordinate with scheduling to achieve daily throughput expectations.
- Conduct tasks in accordance with the facility operating procedures to complete the offloading of railcars and loading of transport truck trailers.
- Strict adherence to all State, Federal, and company policies & procedures.
- Collect & record required data related to the rail to truck transfer.
- Complete all paperwork/documentation related to the rail to truck transfer.
- Operate pumps, compressors, valves, and other offloading/loading equipment as required.
- Ensure safe & compliant conditions of transport trailers and railcars prior to departing the facility.
- Ensure accurate product measurement.
- Monitor facility equipment for mechanical integrity; perform basic maintenance & service as required such as pump lubrication, gasket replacement.
- Perform general facility inspections of the terminal.
- Perform general housekeeping and maintenance of the site.
- Prepare rail cars for release to railway.
- Attend and comply with all required training at the facility.
- Provides site orientations and Transport Driver loading training.
Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- 1 year of LPG rail offloading experience preferred.
- Ability to coordinate, prioritize and execute multiple tasks at once.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Work in outside weather conditions, sometimes in high precarious places while exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
- Must be able to meet DOT/FRA requirements.
- Must have valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to work extended operating hours as required (including nights, weekends, and holidays).
- Must be detail oriented, a self-starter, and able to work with little supervision while maintaining goals/tasks.
- Should have good PC skills to include all MS Office products.
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with operations staff, management, contractors and internal support groups.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
