Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC laser cutting equipment to produce high-quality sheet metal components. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, blueprint reading, and precision measurement to ensure products meet strict quality standards. The CNC Laser Operator will work closely with other fabrication and assembly teams to support efficient production workflows.
Duties
- Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines for various sheet metal fabrication projects
- Program CNC laser equipment using CAD/CAM software to meet specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints & technical drawings.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC laser machinery to minimize downtime
- Conduct quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments
- Assist with tooling changes, machine adjustments, and calibration procedures
- Support fabrication processes including welding, plasma cutting, press brake operations, and CNC milling or lathe work as needed
- Operate auxiliary equipment such as forklifts and cranes safely within the manufacturing environment
- Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to safety protocols
Requirements
- Proven experience operating CNC laser cutting machines; familiarity with CNC programming is essential
- Mechanical knowledge of manufacturing equipment including plasma cutters, press brakes, CNC lathes, milling machines, and stamping presses
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret specifications accurately
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments
- Knowledge of fabrication techniques such as welding, assembly, tooling setup, and sheet metal working
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to crane operation, forklift handling, and machine operation
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations in manufacturing processes
- Mechanical aptitude with a focus on quality inspection and adherence to specifications
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
