Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and care to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. You will work closely with clients in various settings, including group homes and community environments, to assist them in achieving their personal goals and maintaining independence.
Duties
Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs and preferences.
Provide support for individuals with memory care needs and those requiring assistance due to aging or disabilities.
Foster a safe and supportive environment by monitoring client behavior and responding appropriately to any challenges.
Engage clients in social activities and community involvement to promote inclusion and enhance social skills.
Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and any changes in behavior or health status.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other staff to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
Stay informed about best practices in senior care, autism support, CPR, first aid, and other relevant areas.
Qualifications
Experience in memory care or senior care is preferred but not mandatory.
Knowledge of working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
Certification in CPR and First Aid is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held is required.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others are essential traits for success in this role.
Ability to work flexible hours as needed to meet the demands of the clients' schedules.
