POSITION SUMMARY
The Commercial Roofing Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, developing, and closing commercial roofing and exterior renovation opportunities. This role focuses on building long-term relationships with property owners, facility managers, and general contractors while delivering tailored roofing solutions that meet both performance and budget requirements.
As a key revenue driver for the company, this individual will combine technical knowledge with consultative selling to position MidSouth as the trusted partner for commercial roofing projects across Eastern North Carolina.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
- Generate consistent commercial roofing opportunities and meet or exceed sales targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial clients and decision-makers.
- Conduct detailed roof inspections and provide accurate, professional proposals.
- Close profitable projects while maintaining strong margins.
- Maintain a full and active sales pipeline through prospecting and networking.
- Deliver a high level of customer experience from first contact through project completion.
- Collaborate with project management to ensure smooth project handoff and execution.
- Represent MidSouth with professionalism, integrity, and industry expertise.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prospect and develop new commercial business through networking, cold outreach, and referrals.
- Perform roof assessments, site visits, and client consultations.
- Prepare and present detailed estimates, proposals, and scopes of work.
- Follow up consistently to move opportunities through the sales pipeline.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals.
- Coordinate with operations and production teams for project kickoff.
- Maintain CRM records, sales activity tracking, and forecasting.
- Attend industry events and build strategic partnerships.
CAPABILITIES / KEY COMPETENCIES
- Strong sales acumen with a consultative selling approach.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of commercial roofing systems (TPO, EPDM, PVC, metal, coatings).
- Ability to read plans, specifications, and understand project scopes.
- Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Comfortable using CRM systems and digital sales tools.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- 5 years of experience in commercial roofing sales, construction sales, or related field preferred.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
- Experience with estimating and proposal development is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to climb ladders and walk commercial roofs safely.
- Comfortable working outdoors and conducting site inspections.
- Ability to travel locally for client meetings and job site visits.
