Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Medical Front Desk Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative tasks. You will verify insurances and collect copays. ECW experience a plus, spanish speaking a plus.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression and guiding them through check-in procedures.
- Verify patient insurance coverage, including Medicare , and perform insurance eligibility verification using eClinicalWorks.
- Schedule appointments accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Dentrix, and manage patient flow efficiently throughout the day.
- Maintain accurate medical records by filing documents electronically or physically while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and data security.
- Handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette while addressing patient inquiries or directing calls appropriately.
- Support medical administrative functions such as billing, coding, insurance verification, and data entry with proficiency in Microsoft Office and health information management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Requirements
- Prior experience working in a medical office or clinic setting with familiarity in front desk operations and medical scheduling.
- Experience with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to review documentation thoroughly and maintain detailed records accurately.
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations.
- Proficiency in computer skills including typing (10-key), Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), and familiarity with dental or hospital management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional demeanor; ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while demonstrating empathy and patience.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of all patient information at all times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.50 - $19.00 per hour
