As a Patient Service Representative, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and positive experience for every patient. You’ll greet patients and visitors in person and over the phone, schedule appointments, and help ensure each visit runs smoothly. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient care. You’ll maintain accurate records, protect patient confidentiality, and support clinic operations by following established procedures. Above all, you’ll contribute to a friendly and efficient environment that promotes patient satisfaction and teamwork across the clinic.
A Patient Service Representative who excels in this role will:
- Welcome patients and visitors by greeting, in person or on the telephone, answering or referring inquiries.
- Optimizes patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
- Comforts patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions; maintaining the reception area.
- Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
- Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
- Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information, recording, and collecting patient charges.
- Protects patients' rights by maintaining the confidentiality of personal and financial information.
- Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
- Contributes to a team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred qualifications:
- 1-2 years of Physical Therapy Office experience preferred
- Excellent Customer Service, Telephone, and Communication skills
- Experience with patient scheduling & EMR Systems preferred
